What is involved in eicr assessment?
During a EICR assessment, our NICEIC-approved electrical contractors will review a number of areas, including but not limited to: all electrical installations and equipment, distribution boards, fixed wiring, socket outlets, light fittings, switches and more.
We have extensive experience conducting EICR assessments and repairs for a wide range of commercial and industrial properties, including schools, hospitals, warehouses, and offices. Our fully qualified team is equipped to provide a thorough review and upgrade of your building’s electrical system to ensure compliance and to identify any potential electrical issues that need attention.
For expert, cost-efficient EICR testing in Wigan from a company you can trust – choose PW Electrical.
Regular inspections and upgrades of a building's electrical installations are crucial for preventing potential faults or issues with the electrical system, which can help reduce the risk of fires in commercial buildings. It is recommended that commercial and industrial properties maintain an up-to-date Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR). Failing to have a current EICR could leave an employer liable and may invalidate insurance coverage.
A qualified electrician must test and inspect all electrical systems and installations in commercial and industrial properties at least once every five years. However, the required frequency may vary depending on the type of property and the associated risk factors. If the electrical installation is outdated, we would recommend that you conduct the test sooner than the usual five-year interval, as determined by the professional during the inspection. Additionally, we recommend having one of our commercial electricians test the installation whenever there is a change in use, occupancy, or ownership of the property.
One of our experienced and qualified team members, with extensive expertise in EICR testing across various commercial buildings, will visit your property to assess and identify any potential risks. We will highlight any issues requiring immediate or urgent attention, recommend potential improvements, and identify areas that may need further testing. After the assessment, you will receive a formal document confirming whether your electrical systems are in safe working order or if any repairs are necessary. If needed, we can also carry out the required repairs or improvements.
Failing to have a current Electrical Installation Condition Report can have serious operational and legal consequences. Without regular inspections, you increase the risk of undetected electrical faults and potential fires. Furthermore, lacking an up-to-date EICR can make employers legally liable for safety breaches and may completely invalidate your commercial property insurance coverage.
Yes. Following the assessment, you will receive a formal document detailing the safety of your electrical systems. If our NICEIC-approved electrical contractors identify any potential risks, areas requiring urgent attention, or necessary upgrades, our team is fully equipped to carry out the required repairs or improvements to bring your property back into full compliance.
